Sea Shell Resort & Beach Club Wedding on LBI

This was a gorgeous wedding at the Sea Shell Resort & Beach Club on Long Beach Island. The ceremony was held outside with a cocktail hour on the patio. The reception was rocking and the staff at the Sea Shell were friendly and helpful. We set up our photo booth on the left side of the bar, and it was busy all night!

The end of the wedding featured a sparkler send-off.

The Ceremony

It was a little windy near the beach. We set up speakers outdoors, off-camera. Guests were able to hear the ceremony clearly no matter where they sat.

Here’s what the groom had to say:

“The team was very attentive and helpful throughout the entire planning process as well as during the ceremony. They made sure all of our desires were met and then some. The entertainment and energy were phenomenal and the photo booth was a huge hit. Thanks to Philly Custom DJ for a great experience and excellent addition to our wedding!”

Music from the Sea Shell Resort & Beach Club Wedding

The playlist had classic rock, current dance hits and some “down the shore” favorites. There were some relatives from Argentina that flew in for the wedding. We were able to play some of their favorites including Cali Y El Dandee and Maluma.

Check out the actual playlist on Spotify. It plays like a party.

There were foosball tables set up for the kids and a great photo booth with custom gifts for all the party guests. Continue reading Marsha Brown Bar Mitzvah

The Greatest Wedding No Play List

When planning music for your wedding, the no-play list is just as important as the play list. Maybe more important. As a wedding DJ, it’s my obligation to ask couples which songs they don’t want to hear on their wedding day. Those songs vary from couple to couple. Some people want to avoid cheesy overplayed songs like Kool & The Gang’s Celebration or Pharrell’s Happy. Many couples want to avoid participation dances like the Electric Slide and the Macarena, or entire genres of music like Rap, Country or House Music. On the other hand, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure, so it’s important to ask. Continue reading The Greatest Wedding No Play List
