I wanna be like Kanye.
This mix was custom made for a summer wedding at the National Museum of American Jewish History.
This wedding was planned via long distance. The couple lives in Boston, but they got married in the Philadelphia area so their friends and family could celebrate with them. We met a few times via Google Hangouts, and shared information via email and Google Spreadsheets. The wedding RSVP cards had a blank space for requests, so the music was reflective of everyone present.
This lovely event was to celebrate the 40th Wedding Anniversary of a fantastic couple. The catered event was held in their backyard with cocktails near the covered porch, followed by a sit down dinner on the lawn, and then dancing on the porch. The weather could not have been more perfect: not too hot and not too cold, with the occasional pleasant breeze.
The music incorporated contemporary top-40 and indie hits with all the best sounds of the past 40 years. Continue reading 40th Wedding Anniversary
It’s time I got back to the good life.
Music for this bar mitzvah featured current pop music for the kids and dance favorites for the grown-ups at the Spring Ford Country Club in Royersford, PA. The bar mitzvah screened the music selections personally, rating each song with a yes, no or meh. The Philly Custom DJ team was happy to fulfill the bar mitzvah’s wishes, particularly his desire to be hoisted up on a chair during the hora.
We were especially happy to fulfill the first ever request made by a 3 year old guest. He asked for “I Like To Move It” from the movie Madagascar. When we played the song, the boy’s face lit up and he did a wild dance for the whole song. We wanted to play him songs all night. Continue reading Spring Ford Country Club Bar Mitzvah
We love to DJ at Marsha Brown Creole Restaurant in New Hope, PA. We’ve done weddings and holiday parties, but this was our first Marsha Brown Bar Mitzvah. There were foosball tables set up for the kids and a great photo booth with custom gifts for all the party guests. Continue reading Marsha Brown Bar Mitzvah
