These kids knew every participation dance there is!
This fun Bat Mitzvah was held at the Burnham Ballroom of the Hotel Palomar in the Rittenhouse Square area of Philadelphia. The older crowd rocked out to the Psychedelic Furs, Duran Duran, and INXS. The bat mitzvah, and her friends surprised the adults and the DJ team with their knowledge of participation dances. After doing the Cupid Shuffle, the Cha-Cha Slide and Cotton Eyed Joe, the girls demanded the Electric Slide and the Macarena.
We closed the party appropriately with Simple Minds – Don’t You Forget About Me.

Here’s what the mom had to say about Philly Custom DJ
Adam DJ’d our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah last week and did an amazing job start to finish. From our initial phone conversation, it was clear that he was interested in understanding what music we liked and what would work best for our group. We worked on playlists together including songs to please the crowd of 13 year olds and those that were 13 in the 80s. On the day of the event he nailed it with a high energy that kept everybody engaged. He accommodated the kids requests with some guidance from our previously worked out “no play” list. I will point out that if you’re looking for MTV style dancers, props and party games Philly Custom DJ is probably not the right fit for you. But if you’re all about the music, and if your crowd loves to dance, you really couldn’t do better.
Hotel Palomar
Hotel Palomar is part of the Kimpton family of hotels. We have had great experiences collaborating with them on special events. It’s great to work with a staff that is happy about where they work, and what they do. The ballroom is elegant and intimate. And the coffee…well…let’s just say we’re looking forward to our next Kimpton event!
